Everthing we do in the process of taking pictures tends to introduce blur.
The type and quality of the lens we are using and for what application. We tend to move and introduce blur. Even the snap of the shutter may introduce blur. We must take these into consideration and at the time of pressing the button keep the camera as still as possible.
In-camera sharpening
Most cameras have a mechanizm to sharpen the photos taken in the camera. These are usually the jpeg settings that automatically sharpen the photo before you see it. For the beginning photographer this may seem to be the way to go but as you progres you will find the RAW settings allow you much more room to adjust your photograph to the way you want it. The RAW settings will have to be adjusting with your photo software on your computer after the picture is downloaded. If you use the jpeg settings and sharpen the pictures there it is like using a fire axe when a scalpel is needed.
Your final photo may suffer irrepairably by taking the jpeg shortcut.
